Utah Fits All Scholarship

Checked 18 September 2026

How it works

Utah Fits All is a flexible scholarship families direct across tuition, curriculum, tutoring and approved activities, and home-based students are eligible. Odyssey has administered the programme since 16 May 2025. Each student gets a digital wallet in Odyssey: buy from the Odyssey Marketplace, pay an approved school directly, or claim reimbursement for eligible purchases made elsewhere.

Who qualifies

Kindergarten through grade 12, aged 5-18 on 1 September of the scholarship year, and a primary resident of Utah. The student must not be enrolled in a public school or district and must not hold a Carson Smith scholarship. If applications exceed places, returning students come first, then siblings of current recipients, then households at or below 300% of the federal poverty level, then everyone else by lottery.

IN LITIGATION. In April 2025 a Third District Court judge ruled the programme unconstitutional. The court let the programme keep running while the Legislature appeals to the Utah Supreme Court, which had not ruled as of September 2026. Funding for 2026-27 has been issued.

How to apply

  1. Confirm your child is eligible for this year — see "Who qualifies" above.
  2. Check this year's window. The 2026-27 window is closed: returning students applied 1 March to 31 May 2026, and new students 1 April to 1 May 2026. Awards went out on 16 June and funding on 15 July. Expect the 2027-28 new-student window to open around 1 April 2027. Dates move every year, so confirm on the official page before you plan around them.
  3. Create a parent account on the official portal and start the application.
  4. Have your documents ready. Most programmes want proof of residency, the child's birth certificate, and an IEP or eligibility determination if the programme is disability-based.
  5. Once you're approved, spend it. Search for Historical Conquest in the Odyssey marketplace. Marketplace purchases are pre-approved; anything bought elsewhere goes through reimbursement review.

Official programme page: schools.utah.gov/utahfitsallscholarship. Amounts, deadlines and eligibility are set by the state and change every year — always confirm there before you plan around them.
